First you need to ensure that your computer is up to date, you should run a windows update and update your graphics card driver to the most
recent version.
All current versions of the BobCAD-CAM software will work on Windows Vista & Windows 7. It has been found in testing that due
to the way that Windows Vista & Windows 7 handles OpenGL graphics, better performance may be attained by using Vista & 7 Home Premium or
greater and not Vista & 7 Home Basic. (Computers with Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed are still available through many computer retail
outlets.)
BobCAD-CAM is designed as a 32-bit application for Windows operating systems. While this is the case, the installer has been configured so that
all of the files are installed to the correct directories on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. BobCAD-CAM will operate properly within a 64-bit
operating system, using the installation location determined by the installer.
Insert the BobCAD-CAM disk into your CD drive and the software will automatically install. When BobCAD-CAM is started for the first time,
the software will begin in a fully-functional mode for an initial 5-day period until the license is activated and registered. After the 5 day
period has lapsed, the system will revert to demo mode until registered.
Demo mode has the following restrictions:
Machine communication (DNC< etc.) will not run.
Only the first 20 lines of any program will be posted.
If you are installing on Microsoft Windows Vista, additional steps must be taken to set up software permissions. Instructions for
